Dr. Sunil Kumar, Ph. D.

Dr. Sunil Kumar is presently working as Assistant Professor-cum-Junior Scientist in the Department of Agronomy, BAU Sabour. He has completed his B.Sc. (Ag) from B.H.U., Varanasi and M.Sc. (Ag) in Agrometeorology from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. He has completed his Ph.D. in Agrometeorology and Environmental Sciences from SHUATS, Prayagraj, U.P. He has availed ICAR-JRF in Physical Sciences for pursuing his M.Sc. (Ag) and CSIR-JRF in Earth Atmosphere, Ocean and Planetary Sciences. He was given Young Scientist Award for outstanding contribution in 2017 by Society for Agriculture Innovation and Development (SAID), Ranchi (Jharkhand), India. He received Excellence in Teaching Award for outstanding contribution in Teaching in 2018. He has been actively involved in teaching, research and extension at BAU Sabour since 2012. He has published several research papers and review articles in peer reviewed NAAS rated in national and international journals of repute. He has also published  a number of books, practical manuals, book chapters and popular articles. He has also a significant contribution in the field of Aerosol and its impact on Crop productivity, Crop Simulation, Agromet Advisory Services, Remote Sensing and GIS at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour. He is scientist of agrometeorology and has worked on different national and State projects like trends and impact of aerosol on monsoon and rice & wheat crop, crop modelling, weather forecast and agromet advisory services and Gramin Krishi Mausam Sewa. He has guided a number of students for M.Sc. (Ag) and Ph.D. As an Assistant Professor, several courses he has instructed for Undergraduate and Postgraduate and has prepared a course on Climate Change for Undergraduate. Several teaching material he has prepared for the courses to ease for the students.
